EPA and NIOSH have adopted this method as a standard analytical method for analyzing VOC components, which can detect volatile organic compounds at ppb or ppt levels using thermal analysis or blowdown capture devices. Due to its low affinity for water, it is more suitable for blowing and capturing volatile organic compounds from high water content, and even for analyzing volatile organic compounds in water.
