Haohan Chromatographic (Shandong) Application Technology Development Co., Ltd. has established a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method to determine the migration amount of 1,4-butanediol in food contact materials. PBT chopsticks were migration tested with five simulants: 4% acetic acid, 10% ethanol, 50% ethanol, 95% ethanol, and isooctane. The linear correlation coefficients of the simulants in their respective ranges were greater than 0.995, showing a good linear relationship. The same batch of test sample solutions were continuously injected according to chromatographic conditions, The RSD range is 0.84% ~ 1.72%, and the precision is good. The recovery rate of sample spiking is 90.5% ~ 103.2%, and the recovery rate is good. The method can be used to determine the migration of 1,4-butanediol in food contact materials through the investigation of the method
